MindPlay System Requirements

MindPlay’s diagnostic tool may be used to evaluate a site’s compatibility.

  2. Recommended bandwidth – This is the amount of bandwidth available on the network connection when background network traffic is at its highest.
    • 10 concurrent logins: 2.5 Mbps Download, 1.5 Mbps Upload
    • 30 concurrent logins: 8 Mbps Download, 1.5 Mbps Upload
  3. PC: Minimum Requirements:
    • Windows 10 (or newer)
    • 1 GB RAM (32-bit) / 2GB RAM (64-bit)

Important websites to allow:

For networks which require specific IP addresses rather than a URL, the following can be used:

  • – Cloud Storage
  • 152.195.19.* – Cloud CDN

Exact IP addresses for the Cloud Delivery Network sites are dynamic. They can be provided upon request but are not guaranteed to remain the same for any period of time.

These sites will need to be whitelisted and added to the trusted sites in any/all of the following:

  • Local network security settings
  • Firewall settings
  • Antivirus and/or anti-spyware programs (e.g. NetSense)
  • All Internet Service Providers (ISPs) for the school/district
  • Trusted sites list in the domain group policy for all users and profiles
  • Allowed/trusted sites list for student access profiles if not covered in the domain group policy Trusted sites list for any/all proxy servers
  • Any other areas in the local network that cover website access and security

Recommended: verification that the date and time on the computers is set correctly as incorrect dates can interfere with security certificates, which has been known to prevent proper media downloads in the past.


  1. The system provides exporting and importing capabilities including encryption and security of process.
    • MindPlay allows importing and exporting of data via a secure (encrypted) web
    • MindPlay is compatible with the CLEVER® interface for the automated secure transfers of student rosters.
    • MindPlay does not integrate with Active directory but provides a web-based management component.
  2. MindPlay provides a support agreement that covers all future software upgrades and product enhancements at no cost.
    • Tentative release dates are announced 6 months in advance, and are typically made
      twice a year.
  3. MindPlay system sizing requirements are determined to ensure optimal performance when the system goes live.
    • All scaling requirements are handled by MindPlay.
  4. MindPlay provides backup and recovery processes, control and
    security features associated with the system.

    • Client data and the application environment is backed up nightly.
    • 30 days (rolling) worth of client backups are always retained.
    • Backups are stored both on and off site at secured (double locked and ID required) physical and cloud sites.
    • Recovery of lost data can be performed within 24 hours
  5. MindPlay provides a system where all sensitive student and employee information, including passwords and demographic information, are stored and encrypted in the database.
